Preschool Classes
Three-year-old Class- 3 years by September 1st
Tuesday and Thursday
8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
The three-year-old class is very exciting. Children are learning to cooperate in both large and individual settings. They should be able to communicate in full sentences; fine motor skills are being sharpened; gross motor skills are more coordinated and pre-emergent reading and writing are introduced. In this class, the children are introduced to many learning concepts, such as, literature, language arts, science, music, geography, and nature. The children are encouraged to rise to the next level of development by working together in learning and play centers as well as with individual attention from our staff.
Pre-Kindergarten (4 & 5 year-olds)- 4 years by September 1st
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings
8:45 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
Our four-year-old class offers a curriculum that is a transitional stage to assist in preparing your child to enter into kindergarten the following year. Individual assessments will be made in class to determine each child's level of mastery. We use the Learning Without Tears curriculum to introduce letters, numbers, and pre-literacy skills. The class focuses on STEM activities, math, fine motor skills, physical education, music, and independent work. Goals set in the South Dakota Early Childhood Guidelines are closely followed to ensure the child’s readiness for kindergarten.
